HAMBURG, Germany (August 12, 2026) | KingsIsle Entertainment today launched The Trail Goes Cold, the latest content update for its family-friendly pirate MMO, Pirate101, available now on PC. Once one of the Spiral’s dominant powers, Polaris went to war with the entire Spiral at the order of Emperor Napoleguin, helping usher in the lawless era in which the first Pirates emerged. Now, after the reveal of a new contender in the Race to El Dorado, Pirates must seek help from old friends and foes as they follow Oksana’s trail to the far reaches of the Spiral.

Their journey begins with One-Eyed Jack in Flotsam before setting sail for Polaris. Once there, players can explore the capital city, visit its tavern and local vendors, face new enemies, earn new rewards, and venture into the frozen wilderness, where rumors tell of an abominable beast waiting to be discovered.

Players will also recruit Oleg, a new Privateer storyline companion and “True Revolutionary” ready to support their crew against the dangers of Polaris.

Polaris also brings back several familiar Pirate101 features, including Stormgate travel and ship docking, Team Up Kiosk functionality, the Transportaler, and the Midnight Moon Taverne and Cellar. Players will also find Ambient NPCs, Group Plunder Chests, Unique Battleboard props, and more.

The Trail Goes Cold is out now for Pirate101, available on Windows PC through the official website.
